Description
Lumos is a fiber optic internet provider seeking an IT Engineer – Infrastructure Network to drive innovation and enterprise-scale impact. In this role, you will provide technology vision and hands-on leadership in implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise infrastructure and network platforms, with strategic and tactical planning for enterprise back-office systems.
What You'll Do
• Securely maintain and support internal and external corporate network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, and virtual networking equipment
• Create, maintain, and support secure communication between corporate and remote networks, including B2B VPN, remote access VPN, and cloud system connectivity (Salesforce and AWS)
• Administer and support virtual environments, identity and access management, and Windows and Linux systems with monitoring implementation using Splunk or similar platforms
• Evaluate escalation requests from support teams, investigate incidents, and provide custom solutions for networking, VPN, firewall, and other infrastructure services
• Participate in vulnerability management, penetration testing, network and security design, configuration, and testing for both corporate and customer-facing infrastructure
What You Need
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in network infrastructure administration role
• Demonstrated experience with complex LAN, VxLAN, WAN, and multi-site Data Center routing, switching, and ISP environments in multiple vendor environments including Cisco and VMWare
• Strong understanding of network routing and switching protocols with demonstrated skills in BGP, OSPF, EIGRP and network services such as DNS, DHCP, and IPAM
• Strong familiarity with firewall and VPN technologies in a Palo Alto ecosystem with multiple firewalls managed by Panorama
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems administration
Nice to Have
• Master's degree (M.S.) in Computer Science or related field
• Network-related certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or PCNSE
• Experience with cloud network and/or security, specifically Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Familiarity with Cisco ACI network micro-segmentation multi-Pod environment
• Enterprise-level wireless networking experience with preference for Aruba systems
• Familiarity with SIEM technologies, preferably Splunk
• Experience with network configuration, automation tooling, telemetry, and authentication technologies
