Description
As an IT Assembly & Configuration Technician based in Milton Keynes, you will join a team assembling self-checkout systems and performing light technical setup. This full-time, temporary role pays £13.50 per hour. Your duties are roughly 90% hardware and 10% software, including constructing units, installing operating systems, testing components, and following build documentation. You will collaborate with colleagues to meet production goals while maintaining safety standards. Key skills include manual dexterity, attention to detail, and comfort with technology. Previous assembly or configuration experience is beneficial. We’re looking for 2 proactive individuals to join our clients growing team, working in a fast-paced production environment assembling self-checkout systems and performing light IT configuration. What You’ll Be Doing: This role is approximately 90% hardware / 10% software, and includes: Assembling self-checkout units and related hardware components Basic IT configuration, such as installing operating systems or software images Testing and troubleshooting hardware to ensure everything works as expected Following build instructions and maintaining accurate documentation Collaborating with team members to meet production targets and deadlines Maintaining safety and quality standards throughout the process What We’re Looking For: Hands-on experience with hardware assembly or similar technical work Comfortable with basic IT tasks (e.g., imaging, software installs) Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude Able to lift and move equipment as needed A team player with clear communication skills Why Join Us?
