Description
Sensorfact, Europe's leading smart monitoring platform for industry (now part of ABB), is seeking an IoT Engineer to architect next-generation wireless sensor systems that bridge hardware and cloud. You will lead end-to-end development of IoT solutions from research through managing scalable device fleets, enabling the company's hardware-enabled SaaS mission. What You'll Do • Develop and maintain embedded software on gateway devices and sensors • Design, develop, and maintain tools for device fulfillment and onboarding • Research, prototype, and productize new sensor solutions based on product requirements • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect end-to-end IoT solutions meeting product and technical requirements • Conduct code reviews, provide mentorship, and solve scalability challenges such as managing diverse device fleets across different radiofrequency regulations What You Need • 3+ years experience building software for connected devices, preferably industrial IoT products based on embedded Linux • Experience with hardware interfaces such as serial ports, I2C, and Modbus • Data acquisition and sensor integration experience • Knowledge of MQTT, NATS, Debian, OTA fleet management, mTLS, and monitoring • Low-level Linux knowledge including boot sequence (U-Boot), Bash scripting, systemd, and networking • Comfort and adaptability in a growing, changing environment with effective communication skills Nice to Have • Master's degree in a technical field, preferably embedded systems or industrial technology • Knowledge or experience with wireless protocols such as EnOcean, BLE, LoRa, WiFi, or LTE • Familiarity with electronics design • Demonstrable experience with IoT communication protocols • Previous experience in IoT system architecture and design 32-40 hours per week contract.
