Description
At Eneco we work towards one clear goal: being fully climate neutral by 2035. Homes are a big part of that. More and more people generate their own power, store it in a battery and charge a car at home. Our Home Energy Management platform ties all of that together and steers it, so energy is used when it is greenest and cheapest. That platform is growing fast and connects to the wider Eneco ecosystem. Scaling it brings the kind of engineering challenges you want: many devices, many integrations, high reliability demands. As a senior engineer you have a direct say in how we solve that, in a team that reviews each other's work, shares knowledge and gives you genuine ownership. • You take complex features and integrations from refinement all the way to production, independently. • You turn architecture designs into practical solutions that stay scalable and easy to maintain. • You build event-driven services and APIs that connect devices in and around the home. • You automate infrastructure and deployments with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code) and CI/CD pipelines. • You dig into cross-service and production issues and fix the root cause, not just the symptom. • You spot gaps in a design, technical risks and dependencies early, and raise them before they become problems. • You lift the team through code reviews, pairing and knowledge sharing. • Complex integrations and features that work reliably in production, from first refinement to live. • The operational health of your services: tested, secure, observable and stable. • Technical choices that hold up over time and that the team can build on. • The technical growth of the people around you, through reviews, pairing and clear documentation. • You have several years of experience building and running cloud services at scale, ideally on Azure. Strong AWS or GCP experience translates well. • You work with TypeScript, or you are a strong developer in another modern language and happy to switch. • Event-driven architecture, APIs and IoT are familiar territory, and you know the trade-offs that come with them. • You are comfortable with Terraform and CI/CD, and you take testing, security, observability and reliability seriously. • You own what you build, communicate clearly with engineers and non-engineers, and deliver predictably. • You enjoy making colleagues better, not just the code. • Recognise yourself in most of this, but not every requirement? We'd still love to hear from you. You join an engineering team that likes good software but stays pragmatic. Everyone owns their work end to end, and as a senior you help shape the architecture instead of only receiving it. You work closely with fellow engineers, architects and product, and there is plenty of room to bring in your own ideas. • You are one of the senior engineers on the platform that connects home batteries, solar panels, EVs and charge points into one smart energy system. • You own complex integrations from start to finish and help set the technical direction with your team. • Your work helps thousands of households use their own green energy at the right moment.
