However, we are not able to sponsor visas. Your Opportunity Scion is seeking a talented Investments Analyst to join us in executing our vision. This position will focus on using their analytical talents to provide support to the Investments team as Scion looks to continue to grow the nation’s highest quality student housing portfolio. This position will primarily focus on delivering financial modeling, research, presentations, and various analyses with the utmost integrity and timeliness to support investment workflow across acquisition and portfolio management initiatives The Investments Analyst values and fosters strong cross departmental working relationships. This role demands excellent communication skills, agility, well-honed analytical and critical thinking skills and takes no half measures. Your Responsibilities Prepare and maintain complex financial models to analyze prospective real estate acquisition opportunities under various investment structures and sensitivities. Perform sensitivity and scenario analyses to assess the impact of different market conditions, financing terms, and property improvements on investment returns. Gather and evaluate economic, demographic, industry specific, and macro fundamental data to aid senior management in effective business decisions. Collaborate with other members of the investment team to analytically support various investment optimization and portfolio management initiatives. Conduct general portfolio management analysis and provide work product on an established, recurring frequency to internal and external stake holders. Leverage presentation software, data visualization techniques, and communication skills to generate internal and external reports to drive investment analysis. Assist in conducting transaction due diligence by compiling, reviewing, and summarizing various property level reports, documents, contracts, and financials; additionally support teams through the organization of documentation for consumption across various acquisition streams. Establish workflow with asset management and property operations upon asset transition The responsibilities listed above may not be all inclusive. What We Require Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or similar STEM programs with 1-2 years of professional experience. Advanced financial modeling; High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills Knowledge of and experience with commercial real estate fundamentals and investment principles is a plus. Successfully balances multiple, complex projects, prioritizes effectively, and meets deadlines. Infrequent travel may be required occasionally (5-10% in a year). Operational Details Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters. Working hours consist of daytime business hours, requiring additional non-traditional hours during peak times.
