Citizens is seeking an experienced Investment Banking Associate to join our Industrial Corporate Finance (Industry Coverage) team focusing on Transportation & Logistics to support the team’s senior professionals in industry-focused client development and originating, structuring, and executing debt capital markets, equity capital markets, and M&A transactions.The Associate’s responsibilities will include client development support and significant transaction involvement, with the ability to work on multiple projects and transactions concurrently. The Associate will play a critical role in developing industry-focused idea generation, working on deal teams and coordinating projects. The Associate would work directly with senior professionals on the Corporate Finance team and in partnership with Debt Capital Markets / Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets, and M&A product groups, as well as Sponsor Coverage and Corporate Banking relationship teams to support origination and execution efforts for transactions. These include: acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, restructurings, refinancings, and equity raises.Key Responsibilities:Working with the Group Head, Managing Directors, Directors, Vice Presidents, Analysts on the Transportation & Logistics Corporate Finance teamAdditional exposure to and partnership with the Debt Capital Markets / Leveraged Finance, Equity Capital Markets, and M&A product groups, Sponsor Coverage and Corporate Banking relationship teams to develop idea decks that encompass, strategic alternatives, acquisition or opportunistic financing ideas and / ortransaction financing scenarios to help corporate clients and financial sponsorsachieve their financial and strategic objectivesPerforming extensive financial statement modeling for a variety of transaction scenariosConducting comprehensive company and industry research and maintain several key industry datasets Analyzing financial model output and client information to prioritize data and present conclusions for discussion purposes • Preparing pitch materials for client meetingsCreating thoughtful overviews of new platform investment opportunities or acquisition targets to be shared with clients and Sponsors • Support transaction screening and credit / underwriting approval processes and all required documentation, analysis, and meetingsPlaying a key leadership role throughout the transaction execution processParticipating in accounting, business, and legal due diligencePreparing detailed transaction marketing materials including confidential information memoranda and lender / management presentations and virtual data roomsDesired Profile:3+ years of direct experience in M&A, Corporate Finance, Industry Coverage, Leveraged Finance / Capital Markets, Equity Research, or Buyside EquitiesExperience in Transportation & Logistics is preferred • Proven client interaction with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, organized, and articulate mannerAbility to function as part of a flat organization, manage several projects at once and work effectively as an individual and as part of multiple teamsAbility to follow-up independently and consistently and play the critical role as the project manager on most assignmentsDemonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis with a solid understanding of financial statements, financial modeling and company / industry analysisSelf-starting team player who can think strategically and excel in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, challenging work environment • High degree of maturity and integrity with a positive and hardworking attitudeExcellent attention to detail • Ability to immediately contribute to the group based on experience and help transfer best practices and knowledge • Full command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointExperience with related financial services software including S&P CapitalIQ, Bloomberg, FactSet, Pitchbook, AlphaSense, etc.Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional CredentialsUndergraduate degree with a strong academic record from a leading university.MBA not required but a plusAttendance in a formal investment or corporate banking training program preferred, but not requiredFINRA Series 79 (or 7) and Series 63 and /or willingness to obtain licenses within required timeframe.Compensation Range:$130k to $225kIs this job not quite the right fit?
