Maxus Capital Maxus is a fast-growing, entrepreneurial private equity platform focused on the small and mid-cap market. Maxus supplements primary investments in emerging fund managers with direct co-investments and secondaries across Europe and the US. Maxus is currently investing out of two funds and is backed by a select group of leading entrepreneurs and advisers across the Benelux, ranging from unicorn founders, leading entrepreneurs to seasoned European private equity experts. Maxus is an active investor, taking (observer) board positions in both fund and co-investments, leveraging the network of its ecosystem. The Role We are seeking a proactive and curious Investment Analyst Intern to join our team. This role offers an immersive experience in the European and American small and mid-cap private equity fund sector, as well as the opportunity to work on co-investments with leading fund managers. Here's what you'll be doing in the role... Assist in the full due diligence process and presentation of potential investments Contribute to ongoing market mapping efforts and identify new investment opportunities Monitor and support the management of our growing portfolio of fund investments and co-investments Gain exposure to legal documentation, including LPAs, side letters, and subscription documents Maintain and improve our CRM platform Participate in various ad hoc projects Requirements We are seeking highly motivated candidates to join our Ghent (Eke) office for a period of minimum 4 months as from October 2026 . We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, but prior internship experience in the following areas is a plus: Direct investment firms (private equity, growth equity, or venture capital) Investment banking or management consulting, with a strong understanding of the private equity landscape and a demonstrable interest in the sector Fund-of-funds, placement agents, or other private market investors Whatever your prior experience, we're looking for a passionate individual and evidence of your ability to work diligently and make things happen. In addition, the right soft skills are critical for this role. The successful candidate will have the following attributes: Entrepreneurial, "can do" attitude Comfortable working with a high level of autonomy Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word) Skilled at building new relationships Highly curious and eager to learn Ability to develop and defend convictions Fluent English (oral and written), Dutch is a plus Please note that applicants must be eligible to work in Belgium, and the role requires in-person attendance; it cannot be performed remotely.
