Pertemps Aylesbury Commercial seeks an Interpreter to join its expanding pool supporting Buckinghamshire Council. This role, based in Aylesbury, offers flexible hours and hybrid remote working. You will deliver face-to-face and virtual interpreting services across the county. The position pays £20 per hour, with mileage and travel payments for eligible assignments. We welcome applicants for all languages, particularly those living locally. Key skills include fluency in at least one language besides English, strong listening abilities, and cultural sensitivity. This contract provides varied, regular work based around your availability, supporting essential council services. Interpreters Required – All Languages Pertemps is looking to expand its pool of professional interpreters to support Buckinghamshire Council. We are recruiting interpreters for all languages to provide both face-to-face and virtual interpreting services across Buckinghamshire. As the majority of our assignments are based within Buckinghamshire, we particularly welcome applications from interpreters who live locally or within easy travelling distance. What we offer Competitive pay from £20 per hour Mileage paid at the current HMRC approved rate for eligible face-to-face assignments Additional travel payments may be available for longer journeys Flexible work based around your availability Opportunities for regular assignments supporting Buckinghamshire Council services About you To be considered, you will: Hold a DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting) or an equivalent recognised interpreting qualification, or be able to demonstrate experience providing interpreting services in a professional setting Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Be reliable, professional and committed to maintaining high standards of confidentiality and accuracy Have the right to work in the UK (please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship) Compliance Successful applicants will be required to complete our online registration and compliance process before being offered assignments. An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. If you do not already hold a valid Enhanced DBS certificate that meets our requirements, we can arrange one as part of the registration process. Once your registration is complete, you may be considered for interpreting assignments immediately, subject to demand for your language(s).
