Your Role For our team of researchers and engineers, we seek a student to support our research and experiments on the characterization of thin films for inline metrology in battery manufacturing. • Develop and evaluate optical spectroscopy concepts for thin-film characterization with a focus on battery manufacturing processes • Design and perform experiments to measure and model optical properties of thin films for inline metrology • Analyze and process spectral data to assess measurement robustness for industrial use • Support the development and testing of prototype spectroscopy setups and inline metrology demonstrators • Research existing solutions related to optical thin-film metrology and adapt relevant approaches to our application Your Profile We are looking for you, ideally starting in October, for 6 months: • A bachelor’s degree and enrolled in a master’s program in mechanical/electrical engineering, optics & photonics, physics, or similar • Good understanding of the fundamentals of optics and electronics, ideally with a focus on measurement and sensing systems • Programming knowledge in at least one of the following: Python, C/C++, or CUDA • Ideally hands-on experience with optical systems • Excellent organization, problem-solving & communication skills (English and/or German) • Passion for innovation and enthusiasm for new technologies as well as motivation to work in agile, interdisciplinary teams Sounds exciting?
