June 11, 2026 NORTH WELLINGTON HEALTH CARE LOUISE MARSHALL HOSPITAL POSTING #2026-136 INTERNAL INTEREST POSTING REGISTERED NURSE - ONCOLOGY -  “GROW YOUR OWN” OPPORTUNITY (CASUAL) A  “Grow Your Own”  opportunity is available for a  Registered Nurse  who has an interest in a career within the  Oncology Clinic   but does not  possess  the qualifications. Financial support will be available to the successful candidate with a return of service agreement.   *Preference through this opportunity will be given to candidates who have completed or are currently enrolled in the Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course  facilitated  by the de Souza  Institute. * POSITION OVERVIEW: The Oncology Nurse will be involved in all aspects of the oncology and medical day care program   including, but not limited  to:  patient/family assessment, administering & teaching chemotherapy /biotherapy ,   medical day care activities, providing supportive and palliative care, participation in the   development &   implementation of patient treatment plans, quality improvement processes, and facilitation of referrals   and research  activities . QUALIFICATIONS: • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario  in good standing • BScN or related degree • Completion of the de Souza Institute Provincial Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course  mandatory • Completion of de Souza Institute Foundations in Oncology Nursing course  mandatory • Certificate in Oncology Nursing CON(C) an asset • Current BCLS certification; ACLS preferred • Experience with medical day care procedures including but not limited to paracentesis, thoracentesis,  phlebot omy, IVIG, blood transfusions • Experience with intravenous insertion, PICC and  Portacath  access • Current experience in systemic chemotherapy administration • Knowledge & application of principles of oncology and palliative care nursing • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of patient assessment, patient-focused care, oncologic disease processes, needs of the oncology patient  population, safe administration of chemotherapeutic agents, principles of adult learning, and therapeutic communication techniques. • Demonstrated experience in working both independently and as part of inter-professional team • Demonstrated leadership abilities • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills • Computer literacy; working knowledge of a variety of computer systems & software applications • Time management skills • Demonstrated commitment to professional development, continuing  education  and clinical   training programs • Ex emplary  attendance record • Satisfactory Reference Checks  required  prior to start date • Must provide a Police Vulnerable Sector Check • Must complete a Pre-Employment Health Assessment prior to being hired HOURS: • As per department schedule SALARY: • $41.15  - $58.98 per hour Interested applicants please submit your cover letter and resume on BambooHR at the following link: https://whca.bamboohr.com/jobs/ INTERNAL applicants please apply with your work email address.
