The advisor advises enrolled and prospective students on academic programs, manages academic records and graduation applications, and supports student retention efforts including assistance with probation cases and readmissions. The role may also involve coordinating entry-level advisors and participating in orientation and recruitment activities. Highlights • Advise students on academic programs, admission, retention, and graduation requirements. • Analyze and process degree plans, graduation applications, grade changes, petitions, and readmission requests. • Maintain and update student academic files throughout their academic careers. • Provide retention services for students on probation and handle financial aid reinstatements. • May coordinate entry-level academic advisors and assist with orientation sessions. • Potential involvement in recruiting high school and community college students and making presentations. • Requires a 4-year degree or equivalent specialized training and a minimum of three years of directly related experience. • Salary ranges from $43,000-$48,900 or $49,400-$56,200. • Position is full-time in the Exploratory Studies department. • University of Houston System conducts criminal history checks for security-sensitive positions.
