Instrument Technician - Glasgow - Competitive Salary
Our client is seeking an experienced Instrument & Process Control Technician to join their engineering team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly automated continuous manufacturing environment, supporting the maintenance, optimisation and improvement of instrumentation and process control systems.
Are you who we're looking for?
• HND (minimum) or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Process Control or a related discipline
• Previous experience within a continuous manufacturing or process industry environment
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, process control systems and industrial automation
• Experience working with PLCs, DCS and SCADA systems
• Experience supporting process control projects and control system improvements
• Good understanding of industrial health & safety regulations
• Excellent fault-finding, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team
• Flexibility to work shifts where required
What does the day-to-day look like?
• Carrying out planned maintenance, inspections and calibration of instrumentation and control equipment
• Diagnosing and repairing faults across process control systems and instrumentation
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and equipment documentation
• Supporting preventative maintenance programmes to maximise plant reliability
• Working alongside engineering teams to deliver control system upgrades and continuous improvement projects
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and environmental standards
• Contributing to the ongoing optimisation of manufacturing processes and plant performance
