Opto is a fintech platform modernizing private markets investment management. This Principal AWS Infrastructure Engineer role owns the technical strategy and hands-on execution of the company's AWS foundation, including EKS lifecycle management, multi-account architecture, and data governance controls for a scaling organization. What You'll Do • Own Kubernetes/EKS lifecycle management, including planning and executing cluster upgrades independently • Inherit, understand, and improve existing Terraform-based infrastructure as code at scale • Support and evolve AWS enterprise networking setup and multi-account architecture • Partner with Security, Compliance, and Data teams to ensure infrastructure meets audit and governance requirements (SOC2 / FedRAMP-adjacent) • Scale infrastructure to support company growth and coordinate with business stakeholders on hosted infrastructure needs What You Need • Deep Kubernetes/EKS experience with ability to own version upgrades independently • Terraform/IaC proficiency at scale • AWS cloud infrastructure experience including enterprise networking, containers, and multi-AZ deployments • Strong operational competence with Linux systems and shell scripting • Experience with CI/CD and Git-based workflows • Compliance and security posture experience including SOC2, access management (Okta/IAM), and audit readiness • 6+ years of experience in a DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering role with staff-level or subject-matter-expert depth preferred Nice to Have • Pulumi experience • Familiarity with Opto's broader tech stack (React/Next.js, TypeScript, Python and Java REST APIs, Snowflake, Datadog) • Experience in regulated industries such as fintech, wealth management, banking/payments, or healthcare • ISO 27001 familiarity Base salary $170,000–$225,000 dependent on skills, experience and expected contribution.
