About the role:
We are looking to build our network of talented and driven Sales Development Representatives that thrive in a dynamic sales cycle environment to join our growing team in the future. All SDRs will be based in New York. Successful candidates will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives by serving as the first point of contact for prospects who engage with Forter through inbound channels and live events. This role will report to our Sr. Manager, Sales Development.
What you'll be doing:
Rapidly respond to, qualify, and convert inbound leads sourced from marketing campaigns, content downloads, demo requests, webinars, and website activity into qualified opportunities for Account Executives
Own the lead lifecycle for event-driven demand—engaging prospects before, during, and after conferences, trade shows, roadshows, and event marketing events to book meetings and drive pipeline
Work cross-functionally with marketing, event marketing, and sales to strategize on follow-up cadences, event outreach plans, and inbound routing to maximize speed-to-lead and conversion
Conduct initial discovery conversations with Finance, eCommerce, and Payments Executives who have expressed interest in Forter
Understand customer needs and requirements and effectively articulate how Forter can partner to solve them
Prioritize a high volume of inbound leads against established SLAs, ensuring every qualified prospect receives a timely, tailored response
Maintain accurate records of lead activity, disposition, and handoff in Salesforce to ensure clean reporting and a seamless prospect experience
What you'll need:
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and communication skills. A strong candidate is flexible with change, comfortable in a fast-paced environment, thrives on responsiveness, and is eager to advance their career in sales.
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
6+ months of previous business experience highly preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to be effective in positioning a clear, concise and well-understood message
A sense of urgency and strong time-management skills to handle a high volume of inbound leads and prioritize effectively against SLAs
Comfort engaging prospects in fast-paced, high-energy settings such as live events and conferences
Solid technical aptitude and genuine interest in tech and e-commerce solutions
Ability to navigate systems and tools and follow process
Highly-motivated and driven individual who thrives working toward monthly and quarterly quotas
It'd be really cool if you also have:
Experience in a fast-paced startup, with the ability to work in a rapidly expanding and changing environment
Previous experience managing inbound lead flow or supporting event/marketing activations
Previous experience with sales and prospecting tools a plus: Salesforce.com, SalesLoft, Common Room, LinkedIn Sales Navigator
Previous experience using AI to automate and accelerate your lead qualification and follow-up process
