Description
The HUSTLE Head Coach is ultimately responsible for everything that concerns his/her team. The actions, effort, and appearance of the Assistant Coach and players should reflect the HUSTLE Head Coach’s desires. The following is a list of the responsibilities for HUSTLE Head Coaches of the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Be responsible for the quality of the player’s work habits, with help from their Assistant • Keep notes of thoughts, ideas, and positives or negatives that need to be addressed with individuals or entire team. • Create detailed practice plans that emphasize HUSTLE, energy, and maximize on-field reps. • Be knowledgeable of The Academy Way and the Academy’s Core Values. • Be able to instruct players at each respective position on the field. Report ANY injuries of players • Manage communication to parents and receive confirmation of attendance for games and practices by HUSTLE parents/players • Conduct a one-on-one meeting with each player at the mid-point of the HUSTLE season and at the season’s completion to address progress of the player and their goals.
