Responsibilities Environmental and Social Management Systems - Monitor quality, health & safety, security and environmental performance of the Projects, conduct QHSSSE weekly inspections, identify non-compliances and opportunities for improvement, supervise the implementation of corrective actions and ensure all QHSSSE reporting requirements are met in full, and in a timely fashion (i.e. internal, external, regulatory) including but not limited: - Monthly QHSSSE Statistics preparation and/or review and coordination with the Contractors where applicable and provide the QHSSSE statistics approved to the E&S team for duly input in internal and external reports; - Conducting monthly HSE Inspections as well as quality audits; and - Monthly and quarterly reporting internally and externally. - Conduct investigations of any incidents or accidents when required - Review and ensure the adequate implementation of method statements and risk assessments by the Contractors - Promote, define and implement quality procedures in the project/s related to the construction and later on operation and maintenance activities of the project/s - Plan, manage, coordinate and evaluate the implementation of training sessions on QHSSSE systems and procedures to promote awareness and increase knowledge within the organisation as well as capacity building of Contractors and Subcontractors - Provide weekly updates (e.g. email, telephone calls) and monthly reports presenting the status of any open non-conformances, identifying any potential risks and areas for positive contribution - Operate in full compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as applicable regulations and laws, including but not limited to Code of Conduct, QHSE Policies, and Compliance Policies Project Planning & Operations - Providing leadership and hands-on direction on QHSSSE aspects and promote a strong QHSSSE culture across the Project team from the Company to Contractors and Subcontractors. - Coordination of external visits including but not limited Lenders’ monitoring visits, Lenders’ E&S and Technical advisors audits, inspections by governmental authorities and social and cultural activities (such as educational visits) Social Development & Investment - Provide on-the-ground support to the D&O team on both QHSSSE and social aspects of the Projects as well as the implementation of the AEP’s ‘Social Development & Investment Program’ in the local communities to our projects - Build and maintain a positive and active relationship with Contractors and Subcontractors, communicating our strong commitment to occupational health & safety, environmental protection, respect for labour & human rights and strong governance, and fostering an environment that supports transparency and no fear of retaliation - Promote awareness of environmental, health & safety and social responsibility within the organisation by involving employees, ensuring both management and staff are informed of the status of non-conformances, opportunities for improvement and raising awareness on GIIP Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Safety, Environmental or related field) - NEBOSH and/or IOSH Certifications - Quality Management Certificate/Training Preferred Experience - Minimum of 7 years’ related experience in an HSE responsibility post - Previous experience in wind farms and/or solar photovoltaic plants - Preferably previous experience in a company with a strong QHSE culture - Preferably previous experience in internationally financed projects (that required meeting IFC Pe
