US TAX MANAGER – WAM – CAYMAN ISLANDS – 0% TAX – HR253 About this opportunity Our client’s financial services tax practice provides comprehensive and specialized tax support for the asset management industry, covering all aspects of hedge fund, private equity fund, and mutual fund taxation. The practice includes key industry groups such as asset management, banking and capital markets, and insurance, and offers integrated services across audit, advisory, transactions, and tax. The regional team, which spans several major offshore financial centers, forms one of the key market segments within the practice. As a Manager in the wealth & asset management tax practice, your key responsibilities will include: • Managing and coordinating tax compliance and advisory work for clients • Working on key client issues in domestic federal, international, and state and local taxation, with a focus on implementing tax strategies aligned with client business objectives • Managing tax compliance accounts for hedge funds and/or private equity funds • Reviewing extensive securities analysis, making appropriate tax adjustments, and providing sign-off for the production and delivery of K-1's and partnership tax returns • Reviewing partnership agreements and private placement memorandums for tax implications of items such as book and tax allocations, stuffing provisions, management and incentive fees • Running the day-to-day activities on accounts spread across various locations What you’ll need • A bachelor's degree in an accounting, finance, or a business discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience; or an advanced degree in tax or law and a minimum of 4 years of relevant tax experience • A CPA (or equivalent internationally recognized accounting designation), Enrolled Agent and/or LLM certification • Broad exposure to federal income taxation and exposure to state and local tax • Experience serving clients in the wealth & asset management industry, which may include mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, or other investment vehicles • Strong technical knowledge in the asset management tax area • The ability to analyze trading reports for tax character and book tax differences (e.g., wash sales, constructive sales, straddles) • Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills How to apply • To apply, attach your résumé or include a link to your LinkedIn profile • If you don't provide one of the above, we can't progress your application For reasons of confidentiality and to ensure best match for positions, our normal practice is to submit applications to employers only after we have had a Career Consultation with candidates.
