Description
Hartley People Recruitment in partnership with our client are hiring for a HR Manager in Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary.
This role blends strategic HR with hands-on delivery. You will work closely with the CEO and business unit managers to shape workforce strategy, culture, talent and reward. You will also make sure the business meets its employment law, pay transparency and health and safety obligations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development of the people strategy, aligned with commercial goals across all four business units
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and senior management on organisational design, workforce planning and change
• Provide HR insight, metrics and reporting to support decisions at management and board level
• Partner with business unit managers as their first point of contact on people matters
• Coach managers on resourcing, team performance and employee relations
• Build manager capability so they can lead their teams confidently and consistently
• Design and lead a company-wide training and development framework across production, administration, engineering, quality and commercial roles
• Identify skills gaps and build capability, including leadership development and succession planning
• Coordinate mandatory and role-specific training, including health and safety, food safety and technical certification
• Lead initiatives that build a positive, inclusive culture across the business
• Drive employee engagement, wellbeing, internal communication and retention
• Champion company values and support diversity, equity and inclusion
• Own and develop the performance management cycle, from objective setting through to reviews and calibration
• Embed a fair and consistent approach, coaching managers to apply it well
• Link performance to development, progression and reward
• Develop and maintain objective, gender-neutral pay and grading structures based on skills, responsibility and working conditions
• Lead readiness for the EU Pay Transparency Directive and Irish gender pay gap reporting, covering pay ranges in recruitment, removing salary history questions, workers’ right to pay information and gender-neutral job evaluation
• Manage the annual pay review and benefits within agreed frameworks
• Partner with management and the safety function to advance health and safety across manufacturing, food processing and retail sites
• Lead or support health and safety projects, such as strengthening the safety management system, the risk assessment and audit programme and safety training
• Support compliance with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005
• Advise on and manage employee relations
• Oversee the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, contracts, records and exits
• Maintain HR policies, systems and accurate data. Liaise with payroll and ensure compliance with employment legislation and GDPR
• Take on other reasonable duties as required
What You’ll Need
• CIPD qualification (Level 7 preferred, strong Level 5 with relevant experience considered) or equivalent
• Several years of generalist HR experience, including at management or senior advisor level
• Sound knowledge of Irish employment law and current HR best practice
• A track record across training, performance management, employee relations and reward
• The ability to operate strategically while staying hands-on
• Strong communication, coaching and influencing skills, with sound judgement and discretion
