This is a permanent, live-out position offering Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm, with a competitive salary of £20+ gross per hour. The role includes high-level housekeeping, family cooking, household management, occasional errands, and optional paid babysitting, proxy parenting and pet care. A warm and welcoming family of three, with an independent 12 -year-old daughter and a small elderly dog, is looking for an experienced Housekeeper to take full responsibility for the smooth running of their home. This is a long-term opportunity, with a handover from their current housekeeper of 20 years. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining the property to a consistently high standard, carrying out all housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, ironing, wardrobe management and seasonal deep cleans. They will also oversee household deliveries, liaise with contractors, manage shopping and errands, and prepare simple, nutritious meals for the family. While no regular childcare is required, the role may occasionally include paid babysitting, emergency school collections or proxy parenting when the parents are travelling. There is also light pet care for the family’s small elderly dog, including walks, feeding and occasional trips to the groomers or vet. This role would suit someone who is organised, discreet, proactive and enjoys taking ownership of a household. Candidate Specification: • Previous experience working as a private Housekeeper in a high-standard household. • Excellent housekeeping skills with exceptional attention to detail. • Confident carrying out all cleaning, laundry, ironing and wardrobe management duties. • Comfortable undertaking seasonal deep cleans and general household maintenance tasks. • Able to prepare simple, healthy family meals and assist with weekly menu planning. • Confident managing grocery shopping, household supplies and running local errands. • Experience overseeing tradespeople and managing household deliveries. • Proactive, organised and able to work independently using their own initiative. • Strong spoken English with the confidence to communicate with contractors and suppliers. • Warm, trustworthy, discreet and professional. • Happy to assist with occasional paid babysitting and proxy parenting when required. • Comfortable caring for a small elderly dog, including walking, feeding and occasional appointments. • Looking for a long-term position and committed to becoming a valued member of the household. • Looking for a long-term position and able to build a positive, trusting relationship with the family.
