Horticultural Manager- Canterbury Chartham Garden Centre We’re looking for a passionate and commercially minded Plant Area Manager to take the lead in one of the busiest departments of Canterbury Chartham Garden Centre. If you thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, love plants, and enjoy leading from the front, this could be a brilliant next step in your career. • Canterbury Chartham Garden Centre, part of Blue Diamond Garden Centres • Salary: Excellent salary • Full-time role | Includes alternate weekend working This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll have real influence over how the plant area looks, performs, and grows. You’ll be trusted to make decisions, bring fresh ideas, and take pride in delivering an outstanding customer experience every day. What you’ll be doing: • Taking full ownership of the plant area and its day-to-day performance • Shaping stock levels through smart ordering, supplier relationships, and commercial awareness • Ensuring plants are presented to the highest standard at all times • Driving sales and profitability through strong retail and merchandising decisions • Leading, supporting, and inspiring a motivated team • Creating attractive, seasonal displays that encourage customer engagement and sales • Working closely with senior management to continually improve performance What we’re looking for: • Experience in garden retail management (or similar i.e B&Q/ Homebase) • Strong hardy plant knowledge, including shrubs, perennials, and seasonal outdoor ranges • Confident decision-maker with a great commercial understanding • Natural leader who enjoys developing people and building strong teams • High standards, with real pride in presentation and product quality • Someone proactive, organised, and comfortable working with autonomy What’s in it for you: • A key leadership role within a busy, high-performing garden centre • Freedom to run your area and bring your own ideas to life • Supportive management team and well-resourced environment • Opportunity to genuinely make an impact on sales and customer experience • Excellent salary, well above industry standard • Annual awards night recognising outstanding performance across the business Join a leading garden centre team and make a real impact on our customers’ experience!
