Description
As a student assistant, you will support our team in current research and industry projects. Direct compounding (DCIM) is a special process in injection moulding technology. It combines the steps of producing the plastic compound and the subsequent moulding of the part. This combination offers several advantages, with a key benefit being the reduction of energy consumption during part production. This is because the material does not need to be re-melted after compounding, but is directly transferred to the injection moulding machine after production. DCIM thus has significant untapped potential, though there are also many challenges to overcome. You are required to do this: As part of your work as a student assistant, you will plan and carry out tests on a new DCIM system and evaluate the data. This includes tests for material characterisation as well as tests for process design, optimisation and control. What you should bring with you: • Independent, structured and autonomous work • Technical or scientific degree (mechanical engineering, materials science, or similar) • Interest in long-term cooperation • Knowledge in the field of injection moulding machine operation or willingness to work in the field What we offer you: • Varied and challenging activities • Collaboration on current research topics • Flexible working hours
