Heavy Equipment Operator
Walsh Waste & Recycling is seeking an experienced and safety conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with experience operating heavy plant machinery in the waste, recycling, construction or industrial sectors. You will play a vital role in the safe and efficient movement, segregation and loading of waste materials, helping to maximise recycling and resource recovery operations.
Reporting to the Solid Waste Operations Manager, you will work as part of a dedicated team responsible for processing incoming and outgoing waste materials in a fast-paced operational environment.
About the role
• Operate materials handlers equipped with sorting grabs to segregate incoming waste materials into designated stockpiles.
• Load walking floor trailers, trucks and other transport vehicles with outgoing waste and recyclable materials using materials handlers and loading shovels.
• Supply and maintain material flow to sorting lines to support efficient waste segregation operations.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and operate machinery safely in accordance with company procedures and health & safety regulations.
• Work closely with supervisors and site management to ensure operational targets, productivity requirements and quality standards are achieved.

Required Criteria
• 1 to 3 plus years’ experience in the Waste & Recycling or Construction Industry.
