Salary Range $24.26-$30.94 Job Posting End Date - Applications will no longer be accepted starting 08-14-2026 Job Summary Performs training, scheduling, oversight, and journey-level mechanical work analyzing and diagnosing problems; inspecting; and replacing and/or repairing defective parts for the Fleet Management Division. Functions as a lead. Instructs, assigns, and oversees the work of lower-level mechanics. Responsibilities also include ensuring quality control, adherence to safety procedures, and proper assignment of repairs based on Division priorities. Work is performed under general supervision and reviewed by the Technician Supervisor before, while in progress, and upon completion for safety concerns and completeness. Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/G.E.D. Certificate and five (5) years experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Class B CDL with Air Brakes required. ASE (Automotive Service Excellence), EVT (Emergency Vehicle Technician), and Automotive Manufacture certifications required. Certified Natural Gas Inspector required within three (3) months of employment.
