Solicitor – Healthcare Operations Team Location: Cork or Dublin, Ireland Job Type: Full-time Our client is seeking a Solicitor to join their Healthcare Operations Team. This role is an excellent opportunity for solicitors looking to develop a specialist practice in healthcare, capacity, mental health, and public sector law. The successful candidate will work closely with the Health Service Executive (HSE) and handle a broad range of healthcare and statutory applications before the District Court, Circuit Court, and High Court. Day-to-Day of the Role: Manage a varied caseload on behalf of the HSE and other public sector clients. Prepare and conduct applications in the District Court, Circuit Court, and High Court. Advise on and progress Assisted Decision-Making applications and inherent jurisdiction matters. Handle court applications concerning capacity, residency, care arrangements, deprivation of liberty, and safeguarding matters involving vulnerable adults. Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and court documentation. Regularly attend court and liaise with Counsel as required. Work closely with social workers, HSE management, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams. Provide practical and strategic legal advice to clients on statutory obligations and decision-making processes. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and key stakeholders. Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Healthcare Operations Team. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor in Ireland with proven advocacy experience before the District Court and/or Circuit Court. Strong drafting, communication, and case management skills. Ability to manage a busy and varied court-based workload. Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with clients, social workers, healthcare professionals, and multidisciplinary teams. A full clean driving licence is essential. Desirable Experience: Experience in healthcare, public sector, litigation, family law, or mental health law. Familiarity with the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act and related applications.
