This vacancy has arisen within the Health & Safety Department. Purpose of Position The Site Safety Coordinator reports directly to the Lead – Health & Safety Officer and provides on-site support to the Health & Safety Specialist – Infrastructure Safety. Based in the field or on a designated project site, the Site Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in implementing and monitoring health and safety standards. Key responsibilities include conducting regular inspections, identifying and reporting hazards, ensuring compliance with project-specific safety plans, and fostering a safe, proactive working environment for all personnel involved in infrastructure operations. Main Responsibilities Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe practices. Ensure workers, subcontractors, and visitors comply with safety procedures and the Project Health & Safety Plan. Assist in enforcing site access control and permit-to-work systems. Promptly report safety observations, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to the Health & Safety Specialist – Infrastructure Safety. Facilitate toolbox talks, inductions, and safety briefings onsite. Monitor the use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment. Support incident investigations by gathering facts and assisting with root cause analysis. Maintain accurate and up-to-date site safety records, reports, and documentation. Collaborate with contractors, site management, and the safety team to resolve safety issues quickly. Promote a positive safety culture through engagement and proactive communication with all site personnel. Assist in emergency preparedness and response activities. Ensure all responsibilities are executed in alignment with the direction provided by the Lead – Health & Safety Officer and the Health & Safety Specialist – Infrastructure Safety. To perform any other duties and / or related tasks as may be designated by the Company from time to time.
