About The Team The Head of Risk QA is responsible for establishing and leading an independent quality assurance function to ensure the effectiveness, consistency, and regulatory compliance of risk management practices across the organization. This role oversees the review and validation of credit, operational, fraud, and compliance risk processes, ensuring alignment with internal policies, external regulations, and industry best practices. The role acts as a second/third line of defense, providing assurance to senior management and regulators that risk controls, underwriting standards, and decision frameworks are robust, consistently applied, and continuously improved. The Head of Risk QA also drives risk governance, audit readiness, and process standardization while partnering closely with Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, and Business teams. Responsibility 1. Risk Quality Assurance Framework Design and implement a comprehensive Risk QA framework covering credit, fraud, operational, and compliance risks Establish QA methodologies, sampling approaches, and review standards Ensure consistent application of risk policies across all business units 2. Independent Review and Testing Conduct periodic reviews of underwriting decisions, portfolio monitoring, collections strategies, and fraud controls Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and control weaknesses Provide actionable recommendations and track remediation 3. Governance & Regulatory Compliance Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations (e.g., OJK, Basel principles, internal audit standards) Support regulatory audits, internal audits, and compliance reviews Maintain strong documentation and audit trails 4. Reporting & Insights Develop QA dashboards and reporting for senior management and board-level committees Translate QA findings into risk insights, trends, and strategic recommendations Escalate critical issues and systemic risks 5. Stakeholder Management Collaborate with Risk, Credit, Compliance, Product, and Operations teams Challenge business decisions where risk standards are not met Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on risk quality and control effectiveness 6. Team Leadership and Capability Building Build and lead a high-performing Risk QA team Develop QA competencies, training programs, and career pathways Foster a strong risk culture and continuous improvement mindset Requirements Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, or related field 10–15+ years of experience in Risk Management, Audit, QA, or Compliance within financial services Strong exposure to credit risk, underwriting, fraud risk, or operational risk Experience in fintech or digital lending is highly preferred Core Competencies Risk & Control Expertise: Deep understanding of risk frameworks, controls, and governance Quality Assurance & Audit Mindset: Strong experience in review, testing, and assurance processes Analytical & Data-Driven Thinking: Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and generate insights Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate QA findings into business and risk strategy improvements Leadership & Influence: Strong ability to lead teams and influence senior stakeholders Regulatory Knowledge: Familiar with local regulations (e.g., OJK) and glob
