Sourgum is transforming the $100B+ waste and recycling industry through cutting-edge technology that makes waste removal simpler, smarter, and more cost-effective. Our innovative haulsourcing platform powers high-quality waste and recycling services for businesses at significantly lower costs—saving our customers an average of 20%. Leveraging proprietary datasets, an advanced operating system, and a carefully curated network of 5,000+ trusted vendors, we help companies of all shapes and sizes streamline their operations while advancing sustainability efforts.
We’re a fast-growing, venture-backed company (just closed our Series A!) on a mission to modernize an outdated industry — and we’re just getting started. Our investors include Spark Capital, Founder Collective, Suffolk Technologies, 186 Ventures, and River Park Ventures, the same funds that backed category-defining companies like Slack, Anthropic, Uber, Venmo, and Amazon Pharmacy.
If you’re driven by the opportunity to build something groundbreaking, we’d love to meet you.
THE TEAM:
The Product team sits at the intersection of Engineering, Design, Sales, Operations, and Customer Success, shaping the experiences that power both sides of our business: a SaaS platform and a services-based offering. We partner closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to translate business strategy into product vision, and customer needs into scalable solutions. Our goal is to build products and services that deliver measurable value, drive growth, and create exceptional customer experiences.
THE ROLE:
As the Head of Product, you will own the strategy and execution of our entire product organization across both the SaaS and services sides of the business. This is a true player–coach role: you’ll lead and develop a small product team (currently two direct reports) while also serving as the Product Manager/Product Owner for our SaaS platform.
You’ll be responsible for defining product vision, setting roadmap priorities, and ensuring tight alignment between product, engineering, and go-to-market teams—while staying deeply hands-on with discovery, delivery, and iteration for our core software product. You’ll act as a strategic partner to executive leadership, translating business objectives into product strategy and turning customer insights into shipped outcomes.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
- Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap across both the SaaS platform and services-based offerings
- Serve as the Product Manager/Product Owner for the SaaS business, leading discovery, writing requirements, grooming backlogs, and driving delivery with Engineering
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small product team while establishing scalable product processes and operating rhythms
- Define product vision, success metrics, and prioritization frameworks aligned to company goals
- Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, Operations, and Customer Success to ensure alignment from ideation through launch
- Translate business needs and customer feedback into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Drive customer discovery through interviews, data analysis, and feedback loops to inform roadmap decisions
- Own release planning and go-to-market coordination in partnership with Sales and Customer Success
- Build and maintain product documentation, specs, and internal enablement materials
- Establish product KPIs and dashboards to measure adoption, engagement, and business impact
- Balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution—shipping product while building a high-performing product function
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer experience across both software and services
- Act as a trusted advisor to leadership by turning insights into actionable product recommendations
THE QUALIFICATIONS YOU NEED:
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management, with
