Description
Join DayOne – Shaping the Future of Data Infrastructure DayOne is a global leader in the development and operation of high-performance data centers. As one of the fastest-growing companies in the industry, we’ve built a robust presence across Asia and Europe — and we’re just getting started. As we expand into new international markets, we’re looking for talented, driven individuals to join us on this exciting journey. This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to be a key contributor to our dynamic team and help shape the future of global data infrastructure. If you're passionate about innovation, technology, and growth, we invite you to be part of DayOne’s next chapter. Role purpose As DayOne's data center portfolio grows, the Group requires a senior owner of insurance strategy   and operations . This role sets program structure, governs the broker relationship, embeds insurance requirements into construction and commercial contracts, and connects insurance decisions to the broader enterprise risk framework. The Insurance Manager and   potential future construction insurance specialist   report into this position. Key responsibilities • Own the design and structure of DayOne's Global Insurance Program — covering Property Damage & Business Interruption, General Liability, and Financial Lines (D&O, Cyber) — ensuring coverage terms, limits and deductibles reflect the Group's evolving risk profile. • Manage the company's appointed broker relationship at a strategic level: set renewal strategy, review market alternatives, and govern performance against contractual service standards, including any associated rebate or penalty mechanisms. • Lead insurance planning for new data center builds,   such as   builder's risk and construction all-risk cover, delay-in-startup insurance, and embedding insurance requirements into EPC, JV and vendor contracts at the outset of each project. • Proactively identify and evaluate new insurance products and risk transfer mechanisms — including parametric covers, higher retentions, and captive structures — to strengthen DayOne's insurance position and cost of risk over time. • Own escalated and complex claims, determining when to engage third-party loss adjusters, forensic accountants or legal counsel. • Ensure local standalone insurance arrangements remain consistent with Group standards and are visible centrally. • Report on program performance, cost of risk and claims trends to the Risk   Committee and other relevant governance bodies, integrating insurance risk into the Enterprise Risk Management framework. • Manage the annual insurance budget and develop the insurance team. Candidate profile • 1 5 + years in corporate insurance, risk management or broking, with experience designing and managing multi-country commercial programs. • Proven ability to manage a global broker relationship at a strategic level, including program design, renewal negotiation and performance governance. • Exposure to construction, property or infrastructure insurance (builder's risk / CAR, business interruption) strongly preferred. • Able to engage at executive and board level, translating risk financing decisions into business terms. • Experience across APAC insurance markets is an advantage.   Knowledge of European markets would be ideal. • People leadership experience, with the ability to build and develop a small, growing team. Key interfaces • Executive Vice President, Corporate • Insurance Manager and Construction Insurance Specialist (direct reports) • Company appointed broker — strategic relationship owner • Legal, Procurement and Project teams • Risk   Committee and Process Excellence Committee DayOne is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
