Role Summary
The Head of Fire will be responsible for creating, developing and leading the company’s Fire division. This is a strategic and hands on leadership role, focused on building a compliant, scalable and commercially successful department. You will work closely with senior leadership to define service offerings, establish processes and grow a high performing team. Success in this position will be measured by the successful launch, growth and profitability of the Fire function.
Key Responsibilities
• Establish and implement the Fire division strategy, aligning with wider business objectives
• Develop and launch the company’s fire service offering, including compliance, maintenance and advisory services
• Build, lead and manage a high performing Fire team, including recruitment, training and development
• Ensure full compliance with UK fire safety legislation and industry standards
• Act as the technical authority on fire safety, providing expert guidance to clients and internal teams
• Develop policies, procedures and operational frameworks for service delivery
• Drive business development activity, supporting tenders, proposals and client engagement
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasting and financial performance
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and regulatory bodies
• Monitor and report on departmental KPIs, ensuring continuous improvement
Key Requirements / Skills
Essential Requirements
• Significant experience in a senior fire safety leadership role
• Proven experience in setting up or scaling a Fire or compliance related function
• Strong knowledge of UK fire safety legislation, standards and best practice
• Demonstrable leadership experience, with ability to build and develop teams
• Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and driving revenue growth
• Relevant fire safety qualifications such as NEBOSH Fire, IFE, or equivalent
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable Requirements
• Experience working within a security or integrated services organisation
• Membership of a recognised professional body such as IFE
• Experience supporting tenders and business development activity
• Knowledge of both passive and active fire systems
