About the job Head of Finance (Hands-on)Creative Agency London (Hoxton) | Hybrid (3 days in the office)Up to £70,000 + Benefits Are you the type of finance professional who genuinely enjoys rolling up your sleeves?We’re looking for an experienced, technically strong Head of Finance to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function within a growing creative agency. This isn’t a role where you’ll spend your days sat in strategy meetings or managing large teams. Instead, you’ll be at the heart of the business, taking full responsibility for the finance operation and ensuring everything runs accurately, efficiently and on time. This is a hands-on, “doing” role.One minute you’ll be processing supplier payments, the next answering finance queries from the team, producing management accounts, reviewing cashflow, running payroll or analysing the monthly numbers for the leadership team. You’ll be someone who genuinely enjoys being involved in every aspect of finance and takes pride in producing accurate, meaningful financial information. What you’ll be doingYou’ll take ownership of the entire finance function, including:Producing monthly management accountsBudgeting, forecasting and cashflow managementPayroll, pensions and HMRC submissionsVAT returns and statutory reportingPurchase and sales ledger oversightBank reconciliations and supplier paymentsManaging Xero and finance systemsProducing insightful financial reporting and analysisSupporting budgeting and commercial decision makingWorking closely with the senior leadership team while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day running of financeContinuously improving finance processes and controls About youWe’re looking for someone who loves being involved in every detail of the finance function.You’ll be technically excellent, highly organised and confident working autonomously. You’ll enjoy solving problems, answering questions from colleagues and making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly.You’ll probably be an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller or Head of Finance from a small or medium-sized business where you’ve been responsible for the full finance function. You’ll ideally have:ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualificationStrong technical accounting knowledgeExcellent experience using XeroAdvanced Excel or Google Sheets skillsExperience producing management accounts from start to finishPayroll experienceExcellent cashflow forecasting and budgeting skillsA proactive, collaborative approachSuperb attention to detailStrong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleaguesThe personThis role will suit someone who:Loves being hands-on rather than delegatingEnjoys ownership and accountabilityIs naturally collaborative and approachableIs commercially aware but equally happy processing invoices or paying suppliersTakes pride in producing accurate, timely financial informationWants to become a trusted member of a close-knit leadership team This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful creative agency where you’ll have real ownership of the finance function and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business.
