Overview
An exciting Permanent opportunity is available for a a head of English (functional skill and GCSE Department) This role is a full time, permanent role Monday - Friday and will be to start from September 2026 and run until the end of the academic year (July 2027). The college are open to ECT applications and will consider HOD/curriculum managers from any subject area
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver high-quality learning experiences aligned with the college's curriculum and expectations.
• Build positive relationships with students to support their academic and personal development within the College setting.
• Maintain effective classroom management and a productive learning atmosphere.
• Follow all safeguarding and reporting protocols required by the college.
Candidate Profile
• Relevant Teaching qualifications (e.g., QTS, QTLS or equivalent).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills suited to the FE sector.
• Reliability, adaptability, and a genuine passion for education.
• Ability to work effectively within a school community in Gateshead.
