We are partnered with an established, regional financial services institution currently scaling up its technology and platform engineering capabilities. They are seeking an experienced Head of Platform Engineering & Application Architecture to drive overall technical strategy and lead high-performing delivery teams. This individual will shape the long-term technology vision while ensuring software releases are scalable, reliable, and compliant. Sitting at the intersection of high-level architectural design and operational execution, the role oversees multiple squads delivering cloud-native applications across modern stack environments. Key ResponsibilitiesLead engineering roadmaps across containerised, microservices-based cloud environments, ensuring systems are built for long-term scale and high availability.Take ownership of software delivery schedules, balancing feature requests against system stability, security policies, and local regulatory standards.Drive modern practices across API management, DevSecOps pipelines, and cloud platform governance.Manage engineering managers and technical leads across multiple squads, building a strong culture focused on quality and technical excellence.RequirementsDegree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.15 years of total software engineering experience, including 8 years leading multi-team engineering structures.Deep technical familiarity with Java, Python, Microservices, relational databases, Kubernetes, and Azure cloud environments.Proven track record handling enterprise software delivery, platform performance, and local regulatory requirements R22109230
