From Reception through to Year 6, you'll have the freedom to choose the days that suit you, whether you're looking for one day a week or a full-time schedule. Deliver lessons by following the lesson plans and instructions left by the regular teacher. • Manage classroom behaviour using the school's behaviour policy to create a positive learning environment. • Support student learning by explaining tasks, answering questions, and encouraging participation. • Take attendance and report any absences or concerns according to school procedures. • Ensure safeguarding and student welfare by supervising pupils and following safeguarding policies, reporting any concerns immediately. • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of different learners, including pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) where appropriate. • Assess and monitor progress during the lesson, providing feedback to students and leaving notes for the regular teacher about work completed and any issues. • Maintain a safe classroom by following health and safety procedures and ensuring equipment is used correctly. • Promote a positive learning environment by encouraging respect, inclusion, and engagement. • Carry out school duties as required, such as playground supervision or break-time duties, depending on the assignment. • Communicate professionally with school staff, teaching assistants, and senior leaders throughout the day. • Represent the school professionally by maintaining confidentiality, punctuality, and appropriate conduct.
