We are Intrepid
As a Group Product Manager for Digital Products you will own the vision and strategy for a product portfolio spanning multiple teams and product domains including Intrepidtravel.com, our biggest booking channel. You will significantly shape how product management operates at Intrepid, build and develop a high-performing team, and drive the long-term commercial performance and competitive positioning of your portfolio.
Closely partnering with engineering, design, product analytics and senior management stakeholders you operate at the intersection of the company strategy and product execution solving hard customer and business problems ensuring your teams have the context, capability, and operating model to deliver impactful outcomes with confidence.
We hold our teams accountable for results. Shipping is necessary, but not sufficient. We look for product managers who can manage ambiguity, are eager to chase outcomes and are not afraid of taking bets.
You’ll report to the GM, Digital Products, and manage four Product Managers directly, one for each product area spanning the traveller journey from inspiration through booking and trip preparation. This role is Melbourne based and you will be required in the office 3 days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Define multi-year product vision and strategy for Intrepidtravel.com
Make portfolio-level decisions balancing competing strategic imperatives, resource constraints, and market dynamics to achieve our commercial targets
Build and develop a high-performing product team through hiring, coaching, and performance management focusing on outcomes over outputs
Establish operating rhythm, decision-making frameworks, and governance for how product management functions within Digital Products
Represent product leadership in executive forums and contribute to organisational strategy and investment decisions
Set portfolio-level expectations for SEO collaboration ensuring organic performance is a standing consideration in portfolio investment decisions
Drive forward the experimentation culture across the portfolio setting standards, ensuring statistical rigour, and creating the conditions for teams to test and learn at pace
Some of the experience you bring might include:
You have over 8 years in product management, including leading a portfolio across multiple teams
You’ve managed and grown a team of PMs before, ideally with a concrete example of coaching someone early-career into real independence.
You deeply understand empowered product management and can point to how you’ve actually run it.
Your best work has been inside a B2C company with a strong product culture.
You’re hands-on with AI in your own practice, with enough real experimentation to have genuine judgement about when to trust it and when not to.
You’re fluent enough in data and experimentation to coach someone else’s statistical judgement and support in creating and interpreting data.
You can point to specific product decisions that moved revenue, conversion, or market share, and explain the mechanism and not just the outcome.
Experience in e-commerce, travel, marketplace, or multi-brand digital environments
Passion for travel and belief in Intrepid Travel’s responsible travel philosophy.
