Description
STARK is a new kind of defence technology company revolutionizing the way autonomous systems are deployed across multiple domains. We design, develop, and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are software-defined, mass-scalable, and cost-effective. This provides our operators with a decisive edge in highly contested environments. We’re focused on delivering deployable, high-performance systems—not future promises. In a time of rising threats, STARK is bolstering the technological edge of NATO Allies and their Partners to deter aggression and defend Europe—today. You will be reporting to the Head of Accounting. As  Group Accounting Manager , you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the group-wide financial reporting, consolidation, and accounting activities for the organization. You will act as a key technical expert and a bridge between corporate functions, local subsidiaries, and external stakeholders. Financial Reporting & Consolidation:  Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements for the corporate group and its subsidiaries in accordance with  IFRS  and  HGB . Technical Guidance:  Serve as the subject matter expert on complex accounting transactions, financial reporting requirements, and technical assessments under both  IFRS  and  German GAAP (HGB) . Subsidiary Support & Collaboration:  Act as a central liaison between corporate functions and managers within national subsidiaries, supporting and advising them on local and group-level accounting matters. Audit & Stakeholder Management:  Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal) and lead the interaction with external Group auditors during annual audits and reviews. Team Leadership & Mentorship:  Possibility of growing the Group Accounting team, and fostering a supportive, collaborative environment. Ad-Hoc Projects & Process Improvement:  Drive process enhancements, system implementations, and special finance initiatives to optimize financial workflows. Education:  Degree (Bachelor's or Master's) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. A CPA or equivalent designation is a strong asset. Experience:  5 to 7+ years of progressive professional experience in (group) accounting, gained either within an international corporation or a major audit firm. Accounting Standards:  In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with  IFRS  and  HGB (German GAAP) , including group consolidation and reporting obligations for public or growth-stage companies. Software & Systems: Prior experience using  NetSuite  is an advantage. Experience with consolidation software (e.g., Lucanet, SAP, or similar tools) is a plus. Advanced proficiency in  Microsoft Excel . Languages:  Fluency in  English  is required. Good command/proficient skills in  German  are strongly preferred. Soft Skills & Work Style:  Structured, detail-oriented, and analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively across international, cross-functional teams. Talent Contact: Sally Grütte-Pad, Interim Lead TA Partner, via [email protected]
