Full-Time | Early Finish Fridays Thorn Baker are recruiting for a Cemetery Grave Digging Operative to work with a local council’s Green Spaces team based in Ilkeston. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with groundworks experience who is comfortable working outdoors in all conditions and can approach sensitive situations with professionalism and respect. Hours: • Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00 • Friday: 07:30 – 12:30 Pay: • Weeks 0–12: £12.71 per hour • Weeks 13–52: £13.26 per hour • Weeks 52+: £13.47 per hour Duties include: • Digging and preparing graves to required standards • Operating a 360 mini excavator • Backfilling and reinstating ground after services • Maintaining safe and tidy work areas • Supporting burial services respectfully What we’re looking for: • Experience in grave digging or similar groundworks • 360 excavator certification/competence • Physically fit and comfortable with manual outdoor work • Able to work in muddy and challenging conditions • Reliable, punctual, and emotionally resilient What you’ll get: • Ongoing, full-time work • Early finish every Friday • Opportunity for long-term placement Apply now with your CV or contact Dan @ Thorn Baker on 07557 954236 for more information.
