Description
Teach in Qualified - Salaried Teaching Assistant to QTS programme - Newham, East London
If you are a graduate (or about to graduate) and have missed the boat on applying for a PGCE or School Direct course, or you are not able to take another year of unsalaried study, then the TiQ Programme is offering you a solution!
The TiQ programme is a 2-year, salaried Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course for graduates who like the sound of a more measured approach to training as a teacher. The structure of the course allows you to start working as a Teaching Assistant and gradually work your way up through increased responsibilities within your placement school (Teaching Assistant - Co-Teaching & Teaching Assistant - Increasing Independent Teaching).
Our advisors at the TiQ programme will find you a placement school, or you can continue working in your current school if you'd prefer. Even whilst working as a Teaching Assistant you will receive training from our expert training partner who have over 20 years of school-based training experience. They will assign you a tutor who will keep in regular contact with both you and your school-based mentor, to ensure you are getting the right support and experience.
A start as a Teaching Assistant will allow you the time to bed in at your school before gradually moving over to the role of a teacher, picking up more and more responsibilities as you go along.
Primary schools in Newham are looking for graduates to take on in a Teaching Assistant capacity and support them through the TiQ programme. TiQ is fully school-funded, so you won't pay anything and will actually receive a salary whilst working in the school.
Entry Requirements:
• 2:2 or higher Honours Degree
• Cs or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Science, Maths & English
• Experience of working with children (ideally, but not essentially as a Teaching Assistant)
