Description
High Point University is currently seeking a full-time Graduate Recruiter. This position is effectively responsible for recruitment, admission and enrollment of prospective graduate students. QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience and Training
• 3-5 years of experience, preferably at an institution of higher education.
• Experience and successful track record in recruitment and admissions is preferred. Other customer focused or relationship development experience can be considered.

• Communication – Effective and influential communication skills. Excellent writer. Comfortable speaking with prospective students individually or in group settings.
• Management – Ability to evaluate applications, application process/flow, events, new opportunities, etc. to make well-reasoned recommendations for improvement and measure results.
• Relationships – Successfully develops professional connections with prospective students, team members, partners, faculty and program leadership. Is sensitive to and celebrates differences in those connections. Brings a service oriented, problem solving approach to working with others.
• Technology – Utilizes technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Open to the use of technology and adjusting to the changes required by new systems.
• Leadership Potential – Receptive to leadership development opportunities and willingness to take on additional responsibility as skills, knowledge and abilities grow.
• Flexibility/Adaptability to Change – In a rapidly growing and evolving department, flexibility to adjustments in responsibilities and day-to-day duties is necessary.
• Travel – Ability to travel within driving distance and overnight as needed to recruit at graduate fairs and events.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Inquiry Development – Search for and develop opportunities to increase inquiries for HPU programs:
• Businesses
• Feeder Programs
• Advisors, Clubs
• Referrals
• Graduate Fairs and Other Recruitment Events
Applicant Pool Development and Recruitment
• Listen to inquiries to determine their interests, goals, needs, questions, concerns, obstacles and motivations so that we can address them and help them on their path toward a graduate education.
• Identify and prioritize inquiries who are a fit for our programs.
• Communicate with qualified candidates to move them toward application and, ultimately, enrollment.
Application Processing
• Develop knowledge and expertise in the use of Application tools and software.
• Follow up with applicants to address questions increase application completion rates.
• Efficiently review and evaluate admission applications as assigned across all programs
Yield Building
• Develop strong relationships with admitted applicants.
• Follow up communication to encourage deposit and enrollment.
Event Management
• Schedule campus visits, information sessions, interviews, and yield events.
• Extend invitations to events by phone, email, or mail as appropriate.
• Attend graduate fairs and recruitment events as needed.
Data Management and Reporting
• Regular use of CRM (Slate), including inquiry entry, communication documentation, updates.
• Develop reports as requested by supervisor.
Recruitment Planning
• Develop strategic recruitment plans and budgets for areas of responsibility.
Communication
• Identify communication that should be delivered to prospective students via campaigns through mail/email.
• Individual face-to-face meetings as well as telephone and personal email outreach to build relationships with prospective students, evaluate interest, answer questions, provide information and move toward a campus visit, application completion and enrollment.
• Follow up on application documents, invitations, questions.
• Cross Program Support
• Regularly participate in cross training to develop an understanding of all HPU graduate programs, recruitment objectives and admission requirements.
• Represent all programs as needed at graduate fairs, open houses or other recruitment events.
• Provide support in the recruitment for other graduate programs as needed.
