Westside Waldorf School has substitution opportunities for an experienced teacher at our Grades campus. The substitute teachers collaborate with our team to provide an exceptional experience for Grades 1-8 students. POSITION SUMMARY The Grades Teacher Substitute is responsible for the compliant and faithful delivery of the Westside Waldorf School grade school curriculum and method in the classroom teacher's absence. This includes preparing and delivering Main Lessons and skills lessons, and liaising effectively with the administration, faculty, and parents to ensure continuity of the classroom experience. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Manage the classroom to ensure all students are treated with inclusivity and given the opportunity to grow spiritually, artistically, and academically as their own spirit directs. • Prepare and deliver Main Lessons and skills lessons consistent with the Waldorf curriculum and method. • Liaise with school administration, faculty, and parents to maintain continuity of instruction. • Perform other duties as directed to meet the needs of the school. EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS • CPR / First Aid certification • Current TB clearance • Annual State of California Mandated Reporter Training • Livescan clearance SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE • Classroom teaching experience in grades 1–8 • Deep commitment to Waldorf principles • Well-rounded in the arts WESTSIDE WALDORF SCHOOL EXPECTATIONS • Understanding and embracing Waldorf pedagogy • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written — detailed, clear, and concise • Willingness to embrace continuous improvement and professional growth • Strong organizational and time management skills POSTITION DETAILS  Part-Time / On-Call Compensation: $40-$55/hr To Apply Please email your resume, cover letter, and two professional references to [email protected].
