Description
Isar Aerospace is a space technology company building launch vehicles for small and medium-sized satellites. This role focuses on developing, verifying, and implementing Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) algorithms for launch vehicles, bridging flight dynamics, mission analysis, simulation, and production flight software. What You'll Do • Develop, improve and verify GNC algorithms for launch vehicle applications including guidance strategy, navigation solutions and vehicle control techniques • Support trajectory design, mission analysis and flight performance assessment • Develop and maintain high-fidelity simulation environments for design, development and verification of vehicle dynamics, sensors, actuators and subsystem interactions • Implement and integrate GNC algorithms within production flight software using C++, Python and MATLAB • Create analysis, testing and automation tools; investigate anomalies in simulation, testing and flight operations to root cause What You Need • Background in GNC, flight dynamics, astrodynamics, aerospace engineering, robotics or related discipline • Strong understanding of dynamic systems and vehicle behaviour • Experience developing software in C++, Python or similar languages • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate complex engineering concepts into practical, testable implementations • Ability to work effectively across disciplinary boundaries with systems, avionics and flight software engineers Nice to Have • Launch vehicle, spacecraft, aircraft or autonomous vehicle experience • Guidance, navigation, estimation or control algorithm development experience • Validation using test or flight data • Experience with Linux development, version control, MATLAB/Simulink and practical software development 30 days vacation, company pension plan with 20% employer contribution, subsidised lunch, fully financed Deutschlandticket, EGYM Wellpass sports club membership, individual learning allowance, childcare allowance, employee participation program (virtual company shares)
