Role Overview Geoscientists apply field, interpretive, and reporting experience to evaluate AI-generated geology content and provide expert feedback that improves AI understanding of geologic concepts, workflows, and technical language. This is a part-time, project-based contract role that complements your primary employment rather than replacing traditional full-time field or consulting work. Key Responsibilities • Review AI-generated answers, explanations, and technical content for geological accuracy, relevance, and real-world applicability. • Design job-related questions and scenarios that reflect authentic geologic investigation, interpretation, and reporting tasks. • Provide clear, actionable feedback and corrections so AI outputs better match professional practice and technical language. • Follow written guidelines for reviews, work independently, and maintain confidentiality when working with sensitive or proprietary material. Qualifications • 4 or more years of professional experience as a Geologist or in a closely related geoscience role. • Hands-on experience conducting field investigations, interpreting geologic data, and preparing technical reports or equivalent deliverables. • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail. • Proven ability to work independently, exercise professional judgment, and handle confidential information responsibly. • Backgrounds of interest include consulting, industry, government, research, exploration (mining, oil and gas, energy transition), environmental or engineering geology, and hydrogeology. Work Terms • Engagement type: Independent contractor, hourly contract work, not a full-time employee position. • Location: Fully remote. Must have a reliable internet connection and access to a desktop or laptop computer. • Schedule: Flexible and asynchronous. There is no minimum hour requirement. Contributors typically work approximately 5 to 20 hours per week when assigned to an active project, though actual hours will vary by project. • Duration and availability: The program runs year-round with projects opening periodically across different specialties. Placement on projects depends on current project needs; qualified candidates may be considered for future projects as they become available. Compensation • Up to $100/hr (depending on the project). Eligibility • Open to professionals able to work as independent contractors. This engagement does not provide employment sponsorship. • F-1 students with valid CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate, subject to review by your Designated School Official. If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, this remote contract may not meet that requirement. STEM OPT is not supported. Confirm your specific eligibility with your DSO or school guidance.
