The Client
Our client is a long-established, highly respected business supplying technically specified products to trade and industrial customers throughout the UK. With a strong parent group, an experienced technical sales team and an excellent market reputation, the company now seeks a commercially driven leader to take full ownership of its next stage of growth.
The Role
As General Manager / Managing Director , you’ll take full P&L responsibility for the operation and lead a stable, experienced team. This is a leadership role with real autonomy — you’ll set strategy, drive performance and ensure the business continues to deliver strong results and exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the business with full P&L accountability
•
Develop and implement commercial and sales strategies
•
Strengthen key customer relationships and identify new business opportunities
•
Lead, motivate and support a long-serving technical sales team
•
Manage budgets, margin performance and operational delivery
•
Report directly to group board level on financial and commercial performance
The Candidate
You’ll be a proven B2B commercial leader with experience in trade, distribution, or technical sales environments. This position requires a confident, people-focused manager who combines sales acumen with sound operational and financial understanding.

Strong record of leading and developing teams in a B2B environment

Proven experience managing a P&L and driving profitability

The Reward
•
Basic salary circa £80,000
•
Uncapped profit-related pay , typically around £70,000 per year
•
