Description
Den Haag | Fulltime
TrainMore isn’t your average fitness club — it’s a movement. Loud beats, raw energy, high‑intensity vibes, and a community driven by ambition. In the heart of Den Haag, our clubs are entering their next chapter, featuring a strong wellness proposition and a true big‑city pulse.
To lead it, we’re looking for a hands‑on General Manager.
This role goes far beyond a traditional Club Manager position. As General Manager, you own the entire operation — team, performance, revenue, wellness, partnerships, and the full member journey. You are the visible leader of the club: present on the floor every day, setting the standard through action, energy, and example.
This is not a desk‑based or purely strategic role. You lead from the front, in the operation, on the gym floor, and with your team and members.
Your Role
Lead From the Floor
• Be visibly present on the gym floor during peak and off‑peak hours.
• Actively engage with members, trainers, hosts, and wellness staff every day.
• Lead shifts when needed and step in operationally to support the team.
• Spot opportunities and issues in real time and act immediately.
• Set the tone for service, safety, cleanliness, energy, and culture by example.
Build and Lead a High‑Performance Team
• Build, coach, and energise a strong team across fitness, PT, hosts, and wellness.
• Recognise talent and drive personal and professional development.
• Inspire collaboration, ownership, accountability, and a strong TrainMore mindset.
• Be present, approachable, and clear — your leadership is felt daily on the floor.
Deliver the TrainMore Experience
• Guarantee a premium, gritty, stylish, member‑obsessed experience.
• Make every touchpoint count: gym floor, wellness, PT, hygiene, music, vibe, and flow.
• Stay closely connected with members and create moments they remember.
• Protect and elevate the TrainMore atmosphere, every day.
Drive Growth and Results
• Own all revenue streams: subscriptions, PT, retention, lockers, vending, wellness upsell, and local partnerships.
• Understand performance data and translate insights into immediate action.
• Build creative, urban‑minded initiatives that drive engagement and loyalty.
• Hit — and exceed — monthly KPIs with confidence and consistency.
Run a Tight, Hands‑On Operation
• Own the club’s P&L with a sharp commercial mindset.
• Manage budgets, cost control, forecasting, and planning.
• Ensure brand standards and operational excellence through daily floor presence, not distance.
• Report clearly and consistently while staying close to the operation itself.
Build the City Connection
• Create strong local partnerships that reflect the Den Haag community.
• Position TrainMore as a leading urban fitness and wellness destination.
You
• 3+ years of experience in a senior management role within fitness, hospitality, leisure, or high‑service environments.
• A natural floor leader who gains credibility through presence, action, and connection.
• Comfortable spending a large part of your time actively in the club, not behind a desk.
• Strong communication skills, operational sharpness, and commercial insight.
• Service‑driven, detail‑oriented, and energized by fast‑paced environments.
• A leadership style that inspires, motivates, and sets the pace.
• Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience with B2B partnerships and commercial opportunities is a plus.
If you’re looking for a purely strategic or office‑based management role, this position won’t suit you.
What We Offer
• Competitive salary
• 8% holiday allowances
• 26 days of holiday (and you’re free on your birthday)
• Pension plan
• Unlimited access to all Urban Gym Group locations for you and a +1
• One paid charity workday per year
• Well‑being support via OpenUp for you and your family
• A unique opportunity to lead one of TrainMore’s flagship clubs
