From land acquisition to hyperscale leasing, from energy procurement to corporate transactions, you’ll be the architect of frameworks that power our expansion. If you thrive on complexity and want to influence decisions at the highest level, this is your opportunity. General Counsel will lead Montera’s legal, governance, and compliance functions. This executive will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board, and senior leadership team, ensuring that Montera navigates risk, meets regulatory requirements, and supports strategic growth.  The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in corporate law, data center leasing and land acquisition, as well as strong commercial, energy, and real estate expertise. This is a critical leadership role that blends legal oversight with business strategy.  Requirements What You’ll Do Governance & Compliance  Maintain the company’s legal structure, corporate records, board resolutions, and shareholder matters.  Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (corporate, securities, environmental, privacy, employment, antitrust).  Draft, update, and enforce internal policies to meet legal obligations.  Risk Management  Advise on appropriate insurance coverage and manage claims.  Lead legal response during emergencies, including data breaches, service outages, SLA breaches, and on-site incidents.  Advisory & Leadership  Serve as trusted counsel to senior leadership, providing objective, practical legal advice.  Support Board of Directors meetings, agendas, and materials, advising on fiduciary duties.  Real Estate & Development  Lead legal strategy for site and land acquisition, zoning, permitting, and entitlements.  Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, ground leases, build-to-suit leases, easements, and joint venture agreements.  Oversee title reviews, boundary disputes, and environmental assessments.  Customer Leasing & Commercial Contracts  Structure and negotiate hyperscale data center lease agreements, MSAs, and SLAs.  Ensure compliance with data privacy, cybersecurity, and operational risk standards.  Support customer onboarding and manage the contract lifecycle.  Energy Strategy & Utility Contracts  Advise on power procurement strategies, including PPAs, utility interconnection agreements, and take-or-pay provisions.  Evaluate and structure on-site generation projects (solar, battery storage, microgrids) and renewable energy co-location.  Navigate regulatory frameworks for energy tariffs, grid reliability, and sustainability reporting.  Corporate & Strategic Transactions  Lead due diligence and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.  Support financing activities, including construction loans, recapitalizations, and structured
