Description
About This Opportunity
This isn’t just another remote role—it’s a chance to own the full lifecycle of high-impact energy and infrastructure projects while enjoying the flexibility of working from home. You’ll be the strategic bridge that turns opportunity into execution, backed by a Fortune 500 company that invests in your growth, provides a company car, and rewards you with a compensation package that starts at $112,000. The catch? You’ll need to be within reasonable driving distance of a local branch or client site for occasional in-person meetings. Think of it as “remote-first, with a handshake when it matters.”
What You’ll Do
You’ll lead project development from the very first assessment through contract award and handoff to delivery teams. That means you’re the person who shapes the strategy, builds the budget, and sets the schedule—all before a shovel hits the ground.
• Own the pre-construction phase. You’ll develop execution plans, delivery strategies, and preliminary budgets during the pursuit stage. You’ll collaborate with sales, engineering, estimating, and operations to craft competitive, winning solutions.
• Be the risk manager and value engineer. You’ll evaluate vendor selection, subcontractor strategies, and constructability. You’ll identify value engineering opportunities and build risk mitigation plans that protect the project—and the bottom line.
• Build the financial and schedule backbone. You’ll create detailed cost estimates, labor forecasts, subcontractor estimates, and project schedules using tools like Microsoft Project. You’ll also participate in contract negotiations, helping to establish favorable commercial terms, billing structures, and payment schedules.
• Scope and assess. You’ll evaluate project scope, customer requirements, and delivery risks throughout the development process, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
• Support execution. You’ll maintain preliminary schedules, determine staffing needs, and ensure delivery teams are set up for success from day one.
What You Bring
You’re a project management pro with deep construction knowledge, estimating experience, and financial acumen—all wrapped in strong customer-facing skills. You’ve worked on large commercial, institutional, government, energy, or infrastructure projects and know how to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes.
• Proven experience in project development, pre-construction, or delivery consulting within energy, infrastructure, or facility modernization.
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, estimating, construction) without direct authority.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling platforms.
• A track record of developing accurate budgets and schedules that win projects and set teams up for success.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills—you can talk to executives, engineers, and clients with equal ease.
• Willingness to travel regionally for client meetings, site visits, and branch collaboration as needed.
Compensation & Perks
• Base salary: $112,000 – $168,000+ (depending on experience)
• Annual bonus: 15–20%
• Company car
• Comprehensive benefits (health, dental, 401k, PTO)
• Fortune 500 backing with real career growth opportunities
• Relocation considered for exceptionally strong candidates
