This role is essential in ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes for both mothers and newborns. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to obstetrical patients during labor and delivery • Monitor maternal and fetal well-being and respond to changes in condition • Support patients and families throughout the childbirth and recovery process • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams • Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation • Respond effectively to high-acuity and emergency situations • Promote a safe, patient-centered care environment Minimum Qualifications • Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state • Certification: • Basic Life Support (CPR) – required • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required within 6 months • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – required within 6 months • Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of Labor & Delivery or relevant nursing experience preferred Core Competencies • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities • Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism Employment Requirements • Compliance with all hospital policies, including vaccination requirements (approved exemptions considered) • Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening (post-offer) Benefits Comprehensive benefits begin the first of the month following employment, in accordance with hospital policy.
