Full-Time Permanent Dental Receptionist / Assistant - Community Health Centres of Northumberland Full-Time Permanent Dental Receptionist / Assistant RECEIVING APPLICATIONS FROM: March 23, 2026 - April 7, 2026 Description Busy, client-focused dental office located in a Community Health Centre in Port Hope, seeking a reliable, friendly, and detail-oriented Dental Receptionist / Assistant to join our team. This is primarily a dental receptionist position, but some assisting will be required. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both front desk coordination and clinical support. Reception Duties: • Greet and check in patients in a warm, professional manner • Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations • Process payments, insurance claims, and pre-authorizations • Maintain accurate patient records using Tracker • Handle phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries Assistant Duties: • Assist the dentist during procedures • Prepare and sterilize instruments in accordance with IPAC standards • Set up and break down operatories • Take digital radiographs • Ensure patient comfort and provide post-operative instructions Professional Development: • Maintain professional competence through ongoing learning and participation in educational opportunities. • Demonstrate openness to feedback and commitment to continuous improvement. Experience Qualifications: • Dental Reception and Dental Assisting experience needed • Completion of an accredited Level II Dental Assisting program • Passing the National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) exam • HARP Certification • Knowledge and understanding of IPAC sterilization and infection control protocols • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures • Experience with dental software (Tracker is an asset) • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment • A positive attitude and team-oriented mindset Salary – $26-$28/hour based on experience. Hours – Monday – Friday 8:45 am – 5:15 pm – 37.5 hours/week Please note, only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. No phone calls please.
