Description
Wills Eye Hospital was established in 1832 as a gift from merchant James Wills to the City of Philadelphia. Wills Eye Hospital has grown from the nation’s first hospital specializing in eye care to a global leader in ophthalmology. U.S. News & World Report ranks Wills Eye as #2 in the nation. Wills Eye is a premier training site for all levels of medical education, including resident and fellowship training programs which are among the most competitive in the country. Its clinical expertise, state-of-the-art diagnostic testing, and advanced surgical capabilities make Wills Eye a worldwide referral center where more than 400,000 patients are treated annually. Today, Wills Eye continues to shape the science and medicine of ophthalmology, thanks to its talented physicians, researchers, and staff who are dedicated to improving and preserving sight. The Cataract and Primary Eye Care (CPEC) service at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, is seeking a comprehensive ophthalmologist to serve in a hybrid teaching/private practice role. CPEC serves as the hub for both patients and trainees at Wills and offers attending physicians the opportunity to have multiple areas of professional satisfaction: teaching, direct patient care, collegiality, and research, in an academic and physician-driven setting. The Wills Eye Ophthalmology Residency is the oldest in the nation and has consistently been named a top tiered training program in the country. Located in a city known for fantastic culinary and recreational experiences, and close to everything in the mid-Atlantic, this is not only a career opportunity but a personal and/or family opportunity.
