Job Family: Student Work Study Department: Admissions Supervisor: Autumn Johnson Job Title: Front Desk Assistant Job Description: This is an hourly paid student position for the College of Education located in Atlanta, Ga. The Front Desk Assistant will be the first contact for students/guests entering the office or calling the office. Administrative functions include but are not limited to answering phone calls, handling incoming and outgoing mail, data entry and analysis, flyer creation, and paper/electronic record maintenance. This position requires knowledge of Microsoft office software and a willingness to learn more, as well as interpersonal skills to work with graduate students. Also, Student Assistants must be willing to talk to new students and families in person or virtually as well as support the admissions staff at events when needed. Other duties will be assigned by the Director of Graduate Admissions for the College of Education. . In addition, this position may require some evening and weekend hours, but they will be kept to a minimum. The student assistant will also maintain a professional appearance, work with various computer applications and software, such as Excel, and Word, as well as assist faculty, staff, and students when needed.
