Description
Dakota Dental 4 Kids is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) to join our dental team. The RDH is responsible for providing preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, professional, and committed to creating a positive and comfortable patient experience. Key Responsibilities • Perform dental cleanings, scaling, root planing, and preventive hygiene services • Conduct periodontal assessments and charting • Take and review dental radiographs/X-rays in accordance with state regulations • Administer local anesthetic and nitrous oxide • Educate patients on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive dental care • Apply fluoride treatments and sealants as appropriate • Screen patients for signs of oral disease and report findings to the dentist • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes • Ensure compliance with infection control and sterilization protocols • Prepare treatment rooms and maintain hygiene equipment and supplies • Collaborate with dentists and clinical staff to support comprehensive patient care Qualifications • Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license required • Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program • Current CPR/BLS certification required • Knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, instruments, and periodontal therapy • Excellent communication and patient education skills • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment • Experience with dental software and digital charting preferred Preferred Qualifications • Experience in pediatric dentistry, general dentistry, or periodontal care preferred • Bilingual skills are a plus • Local anesthesia and nitrous oxide certification preferred Skills & Competencies • Strong clinical and assessment skills • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care • Excellent attention to detail and organization • Professionalism and reliability • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety Physical Requirements • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods • Manual dexterity for handling dental instruments and equipment • Ability to perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday Benefits • Competitive compensation • Health, dental, and vision insurance • Paid time off and holidays • Retirement plan options • Continuing education support • Flexible scheduling opportunities Schedule • Fridays 7:30am-1:00pm • More shifts available as needed
